General Information

The Research Services office of the Texas Children's Cancer Center and Hematology Service provides assistance to faculty in obtaining and managing funding to support creative and scholarly activities. The main activity of our office is daily communication with faculty and fellows to assist them in the proposal submission process, as well as maintaining and disseminating up-to-date information about research funding and funding opportunities.

Preparation / Service

  • Assist investigators in understanding the steps required to submit a grant, coordinate sub-contracts and negotiate clinical trial agreements
  • Presents department-wide training on new governmental guidelines
  • Provides one-on-one grant/contract advice and assistance

Proposal Review

  • Prepares/reviews all form pages for completeness and accuracy
  • Develops budget figures and reviews justification
  • Supplies necessary assurances
  • Secures institutional signature

Follow up/Awards

  • Provides follow-up with funding agencies on pending applications
  • Coordinates with Office of Research and/or departmental post-awards to ensure proper report follow-up
