Overview of Medical Education & Training

Every form of childhood cancer and blood disorder is represented in the patient population at Texas Children's Cancer Center and Hematology Service. Consequently, its professional development program offers extensive, in-depth exposure to a multitude of pediatric hematologic and oncologic issues in a carefully supervised training environment.

Texas Children's Cancer Center and Hematology Service's staff includes more than 85 full-time faculty members of Baylor College of Medicine who are experts in the field of pediatric hematology/oncology. The faculty serve on a variety of national and international advisory boards, panels and review committees. They are also editors and reviewers of numerous peer-reviewed scientific journals and recipients of various national honors and awards. Our faculty members also play a major role in the Children's Oncology Group, the National Cancer Institute-funded cooperative group of clinical trials.
